It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I know, I know, I’ve been away for so long. It’s a bit crazy, because finals is starting next Thursday. It’s scary how my sophomore year is coming to an end, and Summer is here. It just felt like I went for my second solo trip to Vietnam just yesterday (which happened last year in June).
This year (after finals), I’m going Japan alone. Yeah, initially it was with the guys, but I just felt restricted because I couldn’t do what I want to do. And effectively they have a different mindset than me.
The moment I chose going solo for the two weeks, it was absolutely liberation, I suppose. All my accommodations were mostly in dorms except for one, which was a homestay in rural Japan in Gifu prefecture. Still haven’t figured out how to get to that location on a bus. Probably have to learn some Japanese phrases.
I’m a bit distracted with the planning, because finals aren’t over yet. My finances are a bit tight for this trip because I made a loss (around $300?) by going solo after I paid for the accomms with the guys. Doesn’t matter, since dorms are way cheaper and I enjoy making friends along the way (waves to Ryan whom I met in Vietnam!).
Just so you know, and to whoever wants to hang out in Japan, I’ll be in these locations during these days:
- 11-13: Osaka
- 13-16: Kyoto
- 16-18: Ena, Gifu
- 18-20: Matsumoto
- 20-24: Tokyo
Not sure if I did mention, but I’ll be spending a month in South Korea during Summer as well, from 28 June to 28 July. I will be studying in Kyung Hee University for my summer exchange as a sociology major. If anybody’s up to hang, feel free to holler. Do note, I can’t drink and I know very well of Korea’s drinking culture. I’m sure there are other stuff to do other than drink, so if you’re cool with that (like hiking), leave a comment.
Alright, it’s a little past midnight, but I think I’m going to study for a little bit before I sleep. 🙂
