Established in April 2018, it was originally created to raise funds for AlteRisk, an ad hoc under Nanyang Technological University’s Muslim Society (NTUMS). AlteRisk is an annual camp for youths-at-risk. For AY17/18, the camp was conducted with the Muhammadiyah Welfare Home (MWH) in Singapore for 60 boys age 7-16. At the same time, one of my friends, Gladys, is on exchange in Seoul National University (SNU) in South Korea. As a scholar, she has to raise funds for an education programme for North Korean refugees. Hence, I decided to theme this fundraiser as an education fund for future rounds.
The Education Fund has raised $707 during the first run, and $608 during the second run.
How do we (my mother and I) work on this fundraiser? – We sell layang-layang topped with different flavours, namely sugar, Milo (a type of chocolate malt) and cheese. We are looking forward to expand the menu!
As of July 2018, there is no on-going fundraiser. The next stipulated fundraiser will be in 2019.
